Look what we made!

Last Friday was a fun evening! I met with a wonderful group of ladies for the first time! We decided, we will do it again - if you live in the Winter Garden, Florida area - you are invited to join us. Check out the Meetup section for the ScrappingBee group and you will find us :)

They learned some great new techniques and we made new friends - what more can you ask on a Friday evening?

We used the current May SOM, You've Got a Friend. I used the Stella background paper, but the Ariana background paper would have been just as beautiful! I also used the following cardstock:

Outdoor Denim, Crystal Blue, Creme Brulee, Chocolate

I used the following inks: Black and Bamboo. When you use black to stamp, you want to use bamboo first on your acrylic stamp to protect your stamp. It will not stain quite as bad. Then go into the black ink pad. Clean the stamp right away. Either way - just consider your stamps "well loved" if they get stained :)

For embellishments I used the topiary ribbon, sparkles, washi tape, 3-d tape and other embellments.

Of course, I used our trusted Artiste cartridge to help me cut out some of the shapes. The Cuddlebug helped me with the dry embossing! Whew - I may have missed a few things. Oops - almost forgot to thank one of my important tools - Make it from the Heart! If you do not have one of those How to books - you want to get one. I have been with Close to my Heart for over 20 years and I still use them. Maybe I use them, because I have been with them for that long ... I don't know. Either way, I love those books as a reference. A great starting point for your designs.

Let me know if you need a place to start and I will be glad to help you! Have fun crafting and stamping!

Hello and thank you for stopping by!

This is my first attempt on a blog - can you tell? I am sure you can. From what I have learned about blogs they are like an online journal and you are getting a peak into my soul ...

At this time I am trying to learn how to post my artwork with watermark and copyright and all that jazz -but I a, learning. My plan is to post my work and along with it I will explain what I used and how I made the project.

As we go along, I will also give you a peak into my life. I will share some pictures of my family, places we have been, places we have visited. So, please come back and visit often. Just know, that I am very new to this blogging thing! So, at this time - any help you can give me is highly appreciated in growing my skills in "blogging".

If you live close to me and you would like to join me in my craft place or one my crops please, check my calendar for any upcoming workshops!

A scrapbooker's quilting bee!
