Here is my soldier son. It has been a hard road for him. While he was at Basic Training he was not sure why he was there. It really tested his inner core. After the first nine weeks of really rough physical and mental testing he made it through. He was not that young, almost boy anymore. Yes, he was still interested in video games, etc. But he is much more reflective now. He knows the strength he possesses inside of him. Few young men get to learn that at his age. I am glad for him he stuck it out.

During his break we walked through a store and he received his first handshake (one of many) thanking him for his service to this country. He was speechless, until then he did not think that the sweat, tears (he had not dared to show to anyone) and yes blood he had shed until now in his training really had been for more than just training. But he finally realized what he was really preparing for. The next time someone shook his hand, he was able to say much easier "Your welcome." He will serve proudly, because his dad has done so for over 30 years and still is.

As it is, his dad will most probably be deploying again just a few days after we pick him up from his AIT graduation - such is life in a military family. So, when someone shakes the hand of a soldier they say "Thank You." And the families at home write them letters, are grateful to the Lord for cell phones and we shed tears and always pray for them that they will be kept save.

May the Lord bless our soldiers and their families - always.

More Leadership pictures

This is the part of the Pacemaker team that attended the Leadership conference this year! It is always fun to meet the ladies every year at these events. That is how we keep our friendships alive and learn from one another. A little note - I just noticed that Jeanette Lynton posted this picture on her blog :)

And of course we all have to pose in front of the backdrop of the stage ... :) We need to have fun!

Some Leadership pictures

I promised that I would would add some pictures from my recent trip to Long Beach at my Leadership Conference with Close to my Heart. At the conference I also celebrated 15 years being with that great company! Time flies by when you are having fun! This is part of the small group of other consultant who made that great landmark - great friends! I have a picture me hugging Jeanette - the lady with the red jacket and black pants - but lets just say - I am not showing my "better" side - (ha).

You will see those cute little pink cardigans show up all over the place - those were part of the packet of going to Leadership this year. This was our last Leadership conference. We now will only have one big event per year - Convention. But never fear, our company does them up big - next year we will be Washington DC. I have never missed convention and will not miss that one.

The great lady hugging me is Karen Pederson - my upline! Love her! She has been a great support for many years. That is what it is all about.

Thanks-a-Bration

Whoo-hoo! Our great Thanks-a-Bration special is going for one more week! That means you can save another $35.00 with a purchase of $100.00. You just have to make sure you email me instead of trying to order it online.

No pictures yet ...

Hey, I am trying (ha). As you can tell I am still learning how to blog! If there is anyone out there who can tell me how to center my title - that would be great! Right now I am just glad I have it there! Tomorrow I will post some pictures, then I want to work on some artwork to get it in the blog itself! I have a lot to catch up on. I will share with some of the pictures what they are about. In some ways this will be a little bit of a journal for me and you will get to share it with me.

I have always liked to write and record. This is a great forum. I hope you will share with me. Over that last fifteen years I have been with Close to my Heart and moving around I have made many friends, not just customers. That is what makes this a special business. It really brings people closer together.

Hello and thank you for stopping by!

This is my first attempt on a blog - can you tell? I am sure you can. From what I have learned about blogs they are like an online journal and you are getting a peak into my soul ...

At this time I am trying to learn how to post my artwork with watermark and copyright and all that jazz -but I a, learning. My plan is to post my work and along with it I will explain what I used and how I made the project.

As we go along, I will also give you a peak into my life. I will share some pictures of my family, places we have been, places we have visited. So, please come back and visit often. Just know, that I am very new to this blogging thing! So, at this time - any help you can give me is highly appreciated in growing my skills in "blogging".

If you live close to me and you would like to join me in my craft place or one my crops please, check my calendar for any upcoming workshops!

A scrapbooker's quilting bee!
