Embossing folders and Diffusers 101 by CTMH
Here is a short video on our two new diffusers we offer. It shows you a few options on how you can create some nice artwork. Here are some great hints on how to layer it - I have had some questions on that.
1. Base - A
2. Layer 1 is B
3. Embossing folder with cardstock
4. Then the diffuser, which replaces the second "B"
If you choose to use the circle or the square, use a piece of tape to fasten them down over the plate so they will not move - hope that will help you in your creations.
As always - you can find these fun items on my website! Have fun creating! I will try to show this on one of my upcoming "Creative Minutes" shortly, so be on the look-out!
If you like my videos, please share :)
Thanks, Margit
Stamp a Smile on a Child's Face
Stamp a Smile on a Child’s Faceby Close To My Heart |
We’ve shown you how to preserve children’s artwork in your scrapbooking layouts, and we’ve shown you how to create cute Halloween packages for giving away goodies
you make with your children and grandchildren. Well, today we’re going
to show you how to create a simple children’s book using a very special
stamp set and the Designer Creations short stack album!
We’ve
personalized the cover of our album by printing the title on watercolor
paper, adding stripes of color with our watercolor paints, and then
backing it with a piece of Sangria paper. Thanks to the beautiful
pattern printed directly on the cover, that’s all it takes for a
fully-embellished look!
Adorable, right? Now take a peek inside!
This darling little gator shows you just how easy this project is. Using our My Acrylix®
Animal Greetings stamp set, simply stamp an animal onto a circle of
watercolor paper with the Archival Black Exclusive Inks™ stamp pad.
Color your stamped image with watercolor paints, and attach the circle
to the page of your album. Next, print the critter’s name on watercolor
paper, add a splash of watercolor paint, and attach below the circle.
Then add some patterned paper near the spine of the book if you’d like,
and you’re done! It’s that simple!
We know you’re eager to look through the entire book, so go ahead! Peruse these adorable pages by looking at this gallery:
This
picture book is designed for young children who tend to get a bad case
of the wiggles when you try to read them stories, but you could use this
same idea to create all sorts of books for children of all ages! For
more elaborate plots, try combining multiple stamp sets to fashion
entire scenes. Then use our watercolor paints to bring these stories to
life!
If you choose to try your hand at making this
picture book, you will not only make a child in your life smile, but
you will also be doing the same for another child somewhere else in the
world. How? Well, when you purchase the My Acrylix® Animal Greetings
stamp set, we donate $7 USD of the proceeds to Operation Smile™,
an organization that repairs cleft lips and palates for children all
around the world. What a great way to touch the lives of many children
at once!
So
go ahead! Try your hand at making this picture book today. Not only
will you help Operation Smile touch the lives of children, but you will
also touch the lives of those children who read your handmade book. And
who knows? You might just discover your inner writer!

September 2015 workshop
September Workshop
In September we wanted to have some more fun with some more of my favorite papers. However - the Nevermore papers would be wonderful to use for these projects as well!
I used the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge to cut the little flower (pg. 69) and the sentiment on pg. 53. The best way to get it curled up is to use our Quilling Tool. For the coffin, I used our Cricut Arstiste cartridge (pg. 76). I love the Thistle cardstock, don't you?
Other Products needed:
B1460 Trick or Treat Sweets
Z1919 Purple Shimmer Trim
Z3088 Coral Shimmer Trim
Z2114 Cocoa ink (for sponging)
Sponge (for distressing)
Z2105 Black ink
Z2010 White Stars - you can make them black with black archival ink!
Of course, you can pull all of these items together with your favorite adhesive, add your favorite candy for your favorite spook!
Have a Happy Halloween :)

Hello and thank you for stopping by!
This is my first attempt on a blog - can you tell? I am sure you can. From what I have learned about blogs they are like an online journal and you are getting a peak into my soul ...
At this time I am trying to learn how to post my artwork with watermark and copyright and all that jazz -but I a, learning. My plan is to post my work and along with it I will explain what I used and how I made the project.
As we go along, I will also give you a peak into my life. I will share some pictures of my family, places we have been, places we have visited. So, please come back and visit often. Just know, that I am very new to this blogging thing! So, at this time - any help you can give me is highly appreciated in growing my skills in "blogging".
If you live close to me and you would like to join me in my craft place or one my crops please, check my calendar for any upcoming workshops!
